A Harvard and Johns Hopkins-trained cornea and glaucoma specialist, he was convinced there had to be a better way to capture, document, and share the eye examination.



Stephen G. Slade, MD
World-renowned ophthalmologist and pioneer in refractive and cataract surgery. Performed the first LASIK procedure in the United States and has led the clinical adoption of multiple breakthrough technologies, including laser cataract surgery, implantable contact lenses (ICL), and advanced intraocular lenses. Widely recognized for his leadership in FDA clinical trials, surgical innovation, and physician education, having trained more than 8,000 ophthalmic surgeons worldwide. Deep expertise in clinical research, product development, and the translation of emerging technologies into routine ophthalmic.

Widely recognized for his leadership in clinical research, surgical innovation, and ophthalmic education, with more than 200 international scientific presentations and multiple peer-reviewed publications. Scientific consultant to leading ophthalmic companies, with extensive expertise in intraocular lenses, refractive surgery, digital health, artificial intelligence, and the translation of emerging technologies into clinical practice.
